Elaine Luria Navy Biography – Elaine Goodman is a well-known author. In the United States House of Representatives, Luria represents Virginia’s 2nd congressional district. He is an American politician and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and Poquoson are all in Luria’s district, as well as sections of Norfolk and Hampton. She was a Naval officer for 20 years prior to stepping into the race for Congress.

On August 15, 1975, Luria was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and history and from Old Dominion University in 2004 with a Master of Science degree in engineering management.

During her time in the military, she rose to the rank of commander. Her company, Mermaid Factory, is her baby. Luria served in the Navy for 20 years before being elected to Congress in November. She is a 1997 graduate of the U.S.

Naval Academy and a former nuclear-trained surface warfare officer in the Navy. USS Anzio (CG-68) executive officer and commanding officer of Assault Craft Unit 2 were her final assignments.

It was during his 20-year career in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and Nuclear Engineer that Luria saw action in the Middle East and the Western Pacific six times, twice while serving on ships stationed in Japan.

Assault Craft Unit TWO was under her command from 2014 to 2017, when she retired with the rank of Commander. The U.S. Marine Corps relied on this combat-ready squadron of 400 sailors to supply assault vessels. A Passover Seder was held on an aircraft carrier by her during her time in the military.

While still working full-time at the Mermaid Factory Luria had started on her kitchen table with a block of clay.

As a result, Mermaid Factory has generated 10 local employment, donated more than $50,000 to charity, and contributed more than $250,000 in taxes to the local economy since its inception. In the past five years, more than 50,000 people have visited

Mermaid Factory to spend time with family or friends, express themselves creatively, and take home souvenirs of the renowned mermaid and dolphin icons of Hampton Roads.

Mermaid Factory continues to make its items in-house and donate to organisations in the community that promote the arts and education for children and youth.

He ran for Congress in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District in 2018, which includes coastal cities and the Norfolk Naval Base. Although she was expected to lose, she managed to defeat Republican incumbent Scott Taylor and win 51.1% of the votes cast in the election.

When Luria was 20 years old, he was promoted to the rank of commander in the United States Navy. She was the first American woman sailor to serve exclusively aboard combat ships for her entire career.

First, she served on the forward-deployed destroyer USS O’Brien in the Persian Gulf.

There were 15 personnel under Luria who were in command of Tomahawk missiles. After that, she was promoted to the position of Reactor Controls Division Officer on board the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, and she was sent back to the Middle East.

In his subsequent role as a lieutenant, Luria served as the Seventh Fleet’s Flag Aide. After that, she served on the destroyer USS Mason and the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, as well as the guided missile cruiser USS Anzio as an executive officer.

She was promoted to the position of maintenance coordinator for the Atlantic Fleet, where she was in charge of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Elaine is an ex-Navy officer and politician with American roots.

To far in 2019, she has served longer than any other Democratic House member currently serving on active duty. Post-September 11th, she hosted a Passover seder on board an aircraft carrier. On January 3rd, 2019, she was sworn in.

Additionally, she is a member of the Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk. She was one of a record-breaking total of 102 women elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018.
